The ACFPA is excited to announce our new scholarship type called the Achievement Scholarship. This scholarship was created specifically to support our older youth and young adults, through 22 years of age, in their pursuit of achieving their highest level of independence.  

The intent of this scholarship is to assist with expenses associated with preparing and applying for higher education/college or trade type programs along with participation expenses, work programs and internships (both paid and unpaid), and job search and attainment endeavors.

Greetings and salutations. Great News! We have received a donation of backpacks and stationary products from our friends at the Alameda County Social Services Agency. A huge thanks to Alameda County for this wonderful donation. Additionally, we have a donation of Craft boxes for children 2-5 years of age. Both of these items are available to members during our Backpack Giveaway event coming up very soon. This is a walk-up distribution requiring masks and social distancing.

We are so proud of the Orlando family who were honored with the Daily Point of Light Award this month. This award recognizes individuals and families who inspire us with their contributions to their community.

Rendy, Donald and their 10 adopted children are well known to the members of the ACFPA for their amazing work on the Clothing Closet. Rendy and the kids do an incredible job of keeping the Closet well stocked, organized and accessible to our membership.

Additionally, congratulations are in order to Rendy Orlando who was recently appointed to the ACFPA Board as the Co-fundraising chair.
